At QBE, we understand there is no 'one size fits all' approach to work, which is why we offer flexible working as well as accessibility and workplace adjustments. We provide you with the individual support you may need to thrive and make a real impact. Reasonable adjustments are also available for external candidates to request throughout the process.

We are proud to be a long term member of the Australian Network On Disability, and to offer our people the opportunity to participate in PACE Mentoring for jobseekers with disability.

PACE mentoring

QBE has been a member of the Australian Network on Disability since 2013. In 2015 we stepped up our commitment through our participation in their mentoring program – Positive Action towards Career Engagement (PACE) and since then we've had over 70 QBE mentors and growing.

PACE provides the opportunity for people with a disability to be mentored by business leaders, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in a workplace setting, assisting them in their career planning, as well as aiding their personal and professional development.

PACE also provides mentors the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge, practice their coaching / mentoring skills, while increasing their understanding of the potential of people with disability.

"The opportunity to play a role as a mentor in the PACE program was as rewarding as it was eye opening. I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful, highly driven and open individual. Together, we went through the challenges, heartache and joy that exists in the job market for those with a disability. The barriers to entry in the workforce extend far beyond the organisation, into societal issues and the challenges faced are far more complex than I ever imagined. The program challenged my assumptions, taught me to look at all individuals in a different light and really opened my mind to how our everyday behaviour in and out of the workplace can have a profound affect on those with a disability. If you get the chance to be involved, I couldn't recommend it highly enough."

Stepping Into internship program

We’ve also proudly participated in the Stepping Into internships program since 2022, also run by the ADN. Stepping Into provides paid internship opportunities for university students with disability in partnership with member organisations such as QBE.

It is a mutually beneficial program that supports the intern with their career development goals and practical work experience as well as the intern manager to develop their leadership skills and supporting them to build their disability confidence.
