QBE appointed as claims management provider under icare’s Authorised Provider model
QBE Insurance Australia (QBE) announced today that it has been appointed as one of the workers compensation claims management providers under the Insurance and Care NSW (icare) Authorised Provider model.
QBE will provide claims management services to eligible large business customers from mid-2020. The announcement is part of icare’s drive to transform workers compensation in New South Wales, offering greater choice for large businesses in the state.
Jon Fox, QBE Chief Claims Officer, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to be part of the Authorised Provider model, supporting icare’s initiatives to meet the needs of larger employers in New South Wales.”
“This appointment is testament to the hard work, investment in innovation and customer centred focus of our team. We are excited to be able to extend our work with icare, employers and employees in the state.”
Today’s announcement follows icare’s appointment earlier this month of QBE as one of the claims managers for workers compensation claims within its Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) portfolio.
icare provides workers compensation insurance to more than 320,000 public and private sector employers in NSW and their 3.6 million employees. It also insures builders and homeowners, provides treatment and care to people severely injured on NSW roads and protects more than $193 billion of NSW Government assets.
