QBE appointed to new icare Claims Service Provider panel
QBE Australia Pacific has been appointed to a new Claims Service Provider panel by Insurance and Care NSW (icare) to support the New South Wales Nominal Insurer Workers Compensation Scheme, subject to contract execution.
QBE will provide claims management and treatment support services to a portfolio of small and medium employers in NSW in addition to the portfolio of large corporate employers who have moved to QBE since 2020. This allocation will commence from 2023, with additional roles created over 18 months to support this growth in market share.
Elliot Hill, Managing Director, Business at QBE Australia Pacific, said joining the panel advances QBE’s ongoing objective to support small and medium enterprises.
“We know every business is unique, and that owners want to set themselves up for a better future. We want to support businesses by providing tailored insurance, proactive advice on managing and reducing their specific risks, and now providing claims and treatment support to small business employers and employees in NSW should an incident arise.
“We’re pleased to have expanded our relationship with icare so we can be there for SME’s before and after the unexpected.”
The panel, introduced as part of a new claims model, sees icare increase its range of providers, improve performance transparency, and, over time, provide greater choice for employers. This will drive improved claims management, providing simpler, better care and treatment for injured workers, support for employers, and enhanced capability within the scheme.
