QBE combines Workers Compensation and Accident & Health teams to create unified People Risk function

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing its People Risk solutions, QBE Australia Pacific has combined its Workers Compensation and Accident & Health Underwriting functions into a holistic People Risk function. This marks the first time the two underwriting teams have been integrated and better aligns to broker people risk models.

The unification of these teams is designed to streamline QBE’s approach to People Risk, allowing brokers and clients to benefit from a unified offering and a more holistic view of underwriting and risk management solutions.

“We’ve always been focused on helping our clients to manage People Risk effectively, but bringing together these underwriting teams allows us to have better risk discussions and solutions for our brokers and customers. I was pleased to appoint Anthony D’Oca, Head of People Risk, to lead this new team,” said Pat Priest, General Manager, Commercial at QBE Australia Pacific.

“This new structure places the customer at the centre of policy creation, making it easier for us to create more personalised solutions for their evolving needs, and to have ‘total people risk’ conversations with brokers and customers.”

Bringing these teams together is part of QBE’s broader strategy to drive consistency and innovation across its offerings. By aligning key People Risk areas under one function, QBE will provide a more integrated and impactful client and risk insight and solutions offering to meet the needs of a changing workforce.

“We know brokers and customers are increasingly looking for specialised, comprehensive risk solutions, and we’re proud to be the first insurer to have unified our underwriting approach to People Risk management,” said Ms Priest. “This change supports even better outcomes for our clients, in the endeavour of continuous workforce wellness and wellbeing development.”
