QBE Foundation awarded for leadership in corporate giving
QBE Foundation, the charitable arm of QBE Insurance, has won the award for 'Leadership in Corporate Giving' at the 2017 Research Australia Health and Medical Research Awards.
These awards showcase the incredible efforts and achievements of individuals and teams who make a difference to lives through their contribution to health and medical research.
The ‘Leadership in corporate giving’ award recognises outstanding leadership by a corporation or business in giving to and supporting health and medical research.
The award acknowledges this partnership and commitment of a corporation over time, an important dimension of effective corporate giving, given the vital need for “not-for-profits” to have surety of funding.
QBE was nominated by our charity partner, The Kids Cancer Project, for ongoing support since 2013, including its recent commitment to them through QBE’s first-ever three-year partnership agreement.
QBE Foundation chair Sally Kincaid said this was a proud moment for the Foundation in demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we operate.
“We have had such a wonderful partnership with The Kids’ Cancer Project, supporting the incredible work they do,” Ms Kincaid said.
“In that five-year period, the Foundation has not only contributed hundreds of hours of volunteer time, but more than $500,000 to fund research that will find better treatments for kids with cancer.”
The awards, now in their 15th year, were announced at a gala event held at the Metropolis in Melbourne.
