QBE named top graduate employer

QBE Australia (QBE) has been named one of Australia’s top graduate employers by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) in a list released by the peak body this week.

QBE was ranked 64th in the annual list, which recognises organisations delivering Australia’s best graduate experiences and is based on anonymous feedback from thousands of full-time graduates.

QBE Chief HR Officer Eleanor Debelle said she was thrilled QBE had earned a place on the list after a concentrated focus on its graduate employee experience over the last 18 months.

“We know our graduates bring unique experiences and capabilities to our business and play a key role in meeting the evolving needs of our partners and customers, fostering innovation and creating a diverse and future-ready workforce.

“In recognition of this, and as a key part of our commitment to maintaining an exceptional employee experience for all QBE employees, enhancing the graduate program at QBE has been a key priority for us over the last 18 months.

“This recognition is fantastic affirmation of what’s been achieved in that time, and we’ll continue to work with our graduates, people and partners to continuously improve and evolve our graduate experience.

“Thank you to everyone involved in making our QBE graduate program a success and of course to all the grads who participated in this year’s survey.”

Graduates who completed the survey rated their employer on over twenty different categories including induction program, quality of work, career progression, company culture, compensation and benefits, training and development as well as work/life balance.

Survey participants were all current graduates who have up to 12 months of full-time experience with their organisation.

QBE’s graduate experience was also recognised by the AAGE last year, after the insurer was named as a finalist for the Will Spensley Memorial Award for Innovation in the Graduate Market (private sector) at the Australian Graduate Industry Awards.
