QBE reappointed as icare claims manager

QBE Insurance Australia (QBE) announced today that it has been reappointed by Insurance and Care NSW (icare) as a claims manager for workers compensation claims within the Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) portfolio. QBE is one of four claims managers appointed to provide services for the TMF workers’ compensation portfolio.

Under the appointment, QBE will continue to provide workers compensation claims management services for NSW Government Agencies, from 1 January 2020.  This appointment is subject to contract execution.

Jon Fox, QBE Chief Claims Officer, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with icare, supporting the New South Wales Government Agencies and their people.

“QBE are committed to continuing to invest in initiatives designed to mitigate workplace risk and improve the recovery of injured workers.  Our team are very excited to continue to work with icare, supporting the wellbeing of injured workers in New South Wales.”

“We share icare’s vision of transforming the way injured workers in the state are supported, providing the best services for people, businesses and communities.”
icare’s Insurance for NSW is the largest public sector-managed fund scheme in Australia. Via the TMF, it provides asset and liability protection, including workers compensation insurance, for 202 NSW public sector agencies and their 389,000 workers and 82,000 volunteers.

icare also provides private sector workers’ compensation insurance, and insures builders and homeowners, provides treatment and care to people severely injured on NSW roads and protects more than $193 billion of NSW Government assets.
